# + About Higher Order Notes

These notes are what give angles of structure to the inherent boundless and unstructured nature of Zettelkasten notes, specifically, Permanent and Literature notes. This happens in two specific fashions:
* **MOCs** - [[Map of Content (MOC)]] aim to provide a perceived "vertical" structure or grouping to an otherwise flat file hierarchy of notes in these folders.
* To see a roll-up of the MOCs, see [[Garden Home#Maps of Content (MOCs)]].
* *Note, because Obsidian Publish doesn't leverage data views, the only MOCs tied to the Garden note are hand-entered*
* **Indexes** - These views index relevant notes in a table or list format in more of a horizontal manner. This enables you to see all of the notes that're relevant to a basic concept, tag, etc. [[Index - Books]] is an excellent example.
