## Notes
- The church revolves around the ordinances of baptism and communion.
- [[Baptism]]
- **Do I need to be baptized to be saved?**
- Baptism is no salvation; it is not required to be saved
- **Ephesians 4:8-9**
- ==You are saved by faith alone==
- This is a gift of God
- ==It is not a result of works; nothing that we can do can save us==
- So that no one will boast
- Then why do we celebrate and participate in baptisms? I.e, if not for salvation
- We’re following Jesus’ example
- Represents our being washed clean of our sins - symbolic
- Represents our membership into the body of Christ
- Putting on the clothes of Christ, united by one together
- Represents our joining Christ in his death, burial, and resurrection
- Romans 6:1-11
- This event generates a newness of self and life; we’re joining Christ in life and burial
- Correlation to [[Ego Death]]?
- Take the step if you feel called to be baptized
- [[Communion]]
- Three main aspects
- **Remembrance** of Christ’s sacrifice
- **Personal examination** of oneself
- Related: [[Introspection]]
- Where is your soul? Where are you headed? Are you prepared for this sacrament?
- **Proclamation** and celebration of his sacrifice and love for you and others
