## Literature
>You must linger among a limited number of master-thinkers, and digest their works if you would derive ideas which shall win firm hold in your mind. Everywhere means nowhere.
>
>– [[Seneca]]
## Notes
* Ugh, this is so damn good! Poetic... Absolutely beautiful
* I love this romanticized idea of a [[Master thinker]] - the unbounded wisdom seeker, never lost, but never truly found; steadfast to evolve the understanding and cultivate true wisdom...
* Is a master-thinker a synonym for a [[Philosopher King]] in some capacity?
* Obviously, Seneca's primary point in the first portion is that what should not we focus on being narrow readers as opposed to being very broad ones.
* This actually may work against this idea to [[Be a T-skilled person]]
* I think this depends on we're framing the horizontal nature of understanding and its importance in a given place/field
* This idea of mulling... wading in the mind of an author is really powerful and shockingly tangible feeling
* This philosophy works heavily against outcome-oriented reading, such as speed reading; the goal is to breathe in and establish a dialogue with the author, the thinker - **becoming one yourself**.
* Appended the final [[Everywhere means nowhere]] line of this quote, which is often left out for some reason - it is so succinct.
