## Background
Because I'm so terrible at recognizing my contributions, impact, influence, and more - damn you [[My Trauma|trauma]] - this note is intended to be an index/log of notable impacts I do feel as though I've made. This should enable me to more easily reflect the impact I've made during review time at work, which is the bane of my existence.
## 2024 - [[01 Ibotta]]
### Q2
- Held down the fort for Internal Operations for both Q1 and midway through Q2 wearing both Product and Engineering respective hats and regularly flexing between roles.
- Transitioned and established a roadmap of work for the Content Gateway squad as they transitioned from Client Experience to Internal Operations, onboarding both Mike Munhall and Jeff Flower as #2 leads at the subgroup level, managerial and technical, respectively.
- Proactively built resourcing cases in line with de-risking global priority work alongside squad skillset and senior considerations outside of a prompt for doing so. In doing so, I also rolled out “in-place” changes to Staff+ Engineers, elevating expectations of their role to squad and subgroup-wide strategic technical leaders, holding them to a higher standard and elevating all roles beneath them.
- Spun up a hit squad for Internal Operations under the limited direction of Heather and Chris, integrating a new Engineering Manager from a completely different location in the business.
- Initiated, negotiated with Product, and rolled out a subgroup-wide swarm plan to complete the Rewards API v3 migration for Program Setup Tool (PST) and Rewards Builder (RB).
- Worked collaboratively across group-boundaries to enable ownership of IPN Ex and Internal Ops solutions with Consumer Experience where possible, including Admin Content Setup Migration projects like Split Wave offers, Admin Tags, and more.
-
### Q1
- Influential in the realization of a Internal Tool of Tools and Workflow-based approach when much of the organization, including leadership, continued to think about tooling in a very non-composable/monolithic manner, exploding the potential for realizing a new way of scaling both operational processes and our ability to respond to those needs by decentralizing tool creation and manifestation.
- Led the Admin Content Setup Migration P2C initiative, wearing all three role-based hats: Product, Engineering, and Architect
- Proposed a P2C gateway API layer as an implementation of a transitional architecture/legacy displacement pattern, serving as a foundation for how all P2C monolith transitions are realized incrementally, bringing about a well-needed pragmatism to an initiative and project that has an eat the elephant feel to it.
- Became a vertical SME in various Internal Operations areas where previous Directors didn't (Cory) as a means to enable horizontal/cross-cutting strategic perspectives, from both technical and product perspectives.
- Brought a fresh perspective into the traditional Client Experience (CX) space
- Work shopped with Cory Mitchell a philosophy of differentiation in who we are that enables unified boundaries for both subgroups.
- Gave decisive shape and direction to the Relaunches data initiative, turning vacillation around options on how to a shared interest and outcome, unlocking a ConEx win that originated from their BIR intraweek.
- Took on product and technical ownership of managing the confusion and toil of the Tool of Tool conversations as a meaningful product to business stakeholders.
