This idea that we shouldn't keep a scorecard of how individual people have treated us and allow that to effect how we treat people who've done is wrong in the past.
There is a "anti-reciprocity effect" that we feel naturally: "this person wasn't nice to me, why should I help them?!" Yet, the mark of a good person isn't one who's keeping count of wrongs and only dishing out good to whom they've been treated well by. No, we distribute love, compassion, and joy to anyone and everyone because that's who you are.
Life is too short to keep track of wrongs - don't let that cloud your judgement.
