An evergreen note is a continuously evolving note. It is a note whose content is never truly finished; it is constantly influenced and improved by the notes that exist around it, especially those notes that come after it. ^3bb019
This concept is profoundly counter to the common purpose of traditional writing: we write with a goal to reach a final state. Historically, this may be a school paper/report, a letter, etc. These all have fixed life times and we typically discard or forget them once weāre finished with them. ^218f48
Evergreen notes have the exact opposite value proposition: they continue to generate value as your [[Digital garden (DG)]] grows and matures.
