## Introduction
Powered by [Plex](https://www.plex.tv/), the Fox Media Server is a collection of over 2,000 movies and 150 TV shows that are personally curated and maintained. The overall experience is like a hub where you can stream content from numerous services, such as Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and other services - bringing them into a single, accessible, and powerful location.
The movies and TV shows on the server do not rotate out, so no need to worry about your favorite shows or movies disappearing. This is a common pitfall of other streaming services.
## What is Plex?
Plex is a media service that provides an enriched experience around your media - you provide the videos and they make searching it, managing it, and the overall experience around it really rich. It is nothing more than a tool to access the media that is hosted on the Fox Media Server itself; a gateway to it!
Therefore, you’ll need a Plex account to access the media server - you can create an account on their website, [Plex.tv](https://www.plex.tv/). However, follow the instructions below for a step-by-step guide that walks through the whole process of gaining access.
