To make a great cup of Aero Press coffee, hereās what Iāve learned through trial and error and research:
1. Heat water in respect to the *type of roast* youāre making:
1. Dark roast: 85 - 90Āŗ C
2. Medium roast: 88 - 92Āŗ C
3. Light roast: 90 - 95 Āŗ C
2. Prepare the press with a filter by inserting it into the black filter section.
1. Some people recommend āpre-wettingā the filter. However, Iāve never found it to make much of a difference. Therefore, I use a dry filter.
3. Lock in the filter section into the main Aero Press chamber.
4. Add *two scoops* of ground coffee With the provided scoop. Shake to settle the grounds.
5. When your hot water is ready:
1. Pour hot water into the Aero Press chamber using concentric circles (pouring in a clockwise circle), ensuring that you completely saturate the grounds with water as they rise to the top.
2. While you can cap it - with the plunger - at this point, water will begin to slowly flow through the filter and into the cup, leaving some space At the top. I generally add at least one more pour to maximize the coffee I have in the cup at the end.
6. Let it steep for 2 minutes
7. Before pressing the plunger down, move the entire unit - cup and Aero Press - in concentric circles to agitate the grounds. This maximizes the flavor post-steeping.
8. Using the plunger, press the water in the chamber all the way to the bottom, even through the āhissingā sound.
9. Grab a paper towel and use that to dab the bottom of the filter as you pull the Aero Press off of the cup to minimize spills.
10. Take the unit over to the trash can, remove the black filter, and press out the filter and grounds into the trash can.
11. Using the paper towel, clean the bottom of the plunger and unit of excess grounds to reduce the risk of clogging the drain with grounds.
12. Clean the unit with water and let it dry for next time.
