There are **a lot** of terms in the Personal Knowledge Management space, so I wanted to catalog them here:
- **[[Zettelkasten]]** - Is a model that challenges conventional methods of note-taking. The model speaks to the relational nature of [[Principle of Atomicity|atomic]] ideas as notes and how these interplay with each other to represent many domains of understanding outside of oneās mind. A Zettelkasten is not the box in which notes are held. In traditional terms, that is a slip-box.
- **[[Digital garden (DG)]]** - Is a PKM concept or a way of thinking about the nature of your notes and their workflow/lifecycle. This, in many ways, is the correct terminology to use when describing this vault. It is an alternative and broader concept than that of a slip-box as mentioned above.
- **[[Obsidian]]** - Is and only is a tool to enable a PKM function. Conflating Obsidian as a model or framework for PKM isnāt accurate. Many *choose* Obsidian as their personal PKM tool just as I have.
- Notes types:
- [[Permanent note]]
- [[Literature note]]
- [[Evergreen note concept]]
- [[Evergreen note concept]]
