# Rebuttal, do you have a good faith argument

Whenever someone is trying to root a point or an argument from a position of inherent bad faith, such as grounded in homophobia, racism/white nationalism, transphobia, and or any other place of [[Ignorance]], **instead of arguing with them at that level and trying to counter their point directly, challenge them at the root and hold them accountable to it**:

Make them own up to the poor root of their. This is much easier than trying to attack them at that level because [[It is easier to fool people than it is to convince them that they have been fooled]] - you need to *show them* that their thinking is unbecoming of a [[Mindfulness (MOC)|mindful]], [[Empathy (MOC)|empathetic]], and **truly** loving person of all people, whether they fit into our worldview or not.

This was inspired by the conversation surrounding *The Little Mermaid* live action remake where an African American actress played the role of Ariel. This generated national criticism, which is really sad.
