# Simplicity enables sustainable productivity Created On: 10-12-2022 2:06 pm Up:: [[Productivity MOC]] Tags:: #note/evergreen🌲 Topics:: [[Habits (MOC)]] Related:: [[Builders bias]] --- The common idea that [[Simplicity is better]] is a novel idea that we often willingly dismiss. Instead, we thrive for complexity, customization, and more - we want things to solve every, "what if", that pops into our mind when we're solutioning, and the "right" solution evolves organically in our mind to be the most complex solution. However, the trade-off to this organic growth complexity is that ==a greater amount of complexity can often reduce the likelihood of consistent and sustained usage and ultimately, the long-term realization of benefit, from the thing in question==. This is likelihood negatively compounded by ideas like [[Forming habits in massive waves is a recipe for failure]]. Therefore, our recipe for sustainable productivity should be finding solutions to our problems that solve the vast majority of our core issues and investing in this by building simple processes, routines, etc. to handle them.
